What is Imagine?
Imagine is Microsoft's replacement for DreamSpark - it is a programme the University subscribes to that has two primary goals:
- To make it easier and less expensive for you to obtain Microsoft developer tools, platforms, and servers for instructional and research purposes.
- To build a community of instructors who can share curriculum and other learning resources to support the use of these technologies.
Imagine Premium is designed to address the needs of academic departments teaching Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
In addition to Imagine Premium, the Imagine programme provides access to a subset of applications to support teaching and research in non-STEM disciplines.
We hope you enjoy these new opportunities. Microsoft Imagine gives you the software and resources to learn, and get a head start in school or in your future career.
Getting Access to Software
Access to Imagine software is provided using ELMS (e-academy License Management System). You will be required to login to the system which will use your username to determine which Imagine programme you are eligible to access.
The University agreement allows access to the programme to academic staff and students. Generally, non-academic staff will not be eligible.
Important Note: Licence codes obtained via ELMS are for personal use - installation onto multiple computers (e.g. a lab of computers) will require either a Key Management Server key (KMS) or Multiple Activation Key (MAK) - please contact your local C&IT Team via the Service Desk who will be able to enter these on each machine. We are not permitted to distribute the key directly to end users, so you will need to contact the C&IT Team!
Only a limited number of Microsoft products are available under the Elms programme, and once you have logged on and continued to ELMS/Imagine, you will be presented with a list of products which you are eligible to obtain.
